Our Story
It all started in an office, between two brothers, with feet kicked up on a desk after a long day. A conversation about cooking a good steak seasoned just the way we thought it should be, turned into the idea of having a steak seasoning made just the way we liked it. That conversation generated the development of the Runnin’ Wild Steak Seasoning. It did not take long for us to see we were on to something, as folks were encouraging us to turn this into a business. So, with a trailblazer attitude and a philosophy of tackling life with gusto, Runnin’ Wild Foods was formed.
We named the company Runnin' Wild; but it's more than just a name, it's our motto — a BIG, BOLD philosophy we incorporate into everything we do.
Not long after the kick off of the company, one of the brothers started making homemade jerky on his farm and giving it out to the folks who visited. His jerky was made with hand cut, hand trimmed thick cut slices of steak marinated in a special recipe that makes it moist & tender…just like eating steak! Well, guess what…folks couldn’t get enough of this unique jerky...they raved about how different it was compared to traditional dry, thin, leather like beef jerky. After that, we knew we had to find a way to produce our jerky in large quantities, just like we did on the farm, and once we could we added it to the lineup of Runnin’ Wild products. Beef Jerky just does not do our product justice, so we named it Steak 'N A Bag, the best darn jerky you will ever taste. From that point on there was no going back.
