Our Story
It all started in a small office — between brothers with their boots kicked up after a long day, talking about how a steak should taste. That conversation led to creating our first seasoning, Runnin’ Wild Steak Seasoning. Folks loved it and kept telling us to turn it into a business, so with a trailblazer attitude and a whole lot of gusto, Runnin’ Wild Foods was born.
We named the company Runnin' Wild; but it's more than just a name, it's our motto — a BIG, BOLD philosophy we incorporate into everything we do.
Soon after, one brother started making thick-cut, hand-trimmed homemade jerky on his farm and giving it to visitors. It was tender, marinated steak you could actually sink your teeth into — nothing like the thin, dry stuff on store shelves. People couldn’t get enough, so we found a way to make it on a larger scale and added it to the lineup.
Beef jerky didn’t do it justice, so we called it Steak ’N A Bag — the best darn jerky you’ll ever taste. And from that moment on, there was no turning back.
