Sweet Jalapeno Cheddar Corn Bread
Our Sweet Jalapeno Cheddar Cornbread is a wild twist on the Southern classic. Loaded with cheddar cheese, diced jalapeños, and a kick of our Sweet Jalapeno Seasoning, we've given the traditional corn bread recipe a slightly sweet and spicy kick that'll have you wantin' more.
Ingredients:
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup yellow cornmeal
- 1/2 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons baking powder
- 2 teaspoons Sweet Jalapeno Seasoning
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Butter Seasoning
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1/2 pound (2 sticks) butter, melted
- 8 ounces Cheddar cheese, grated
- 1/3 cup chopped scallions, chopped
- 3 tablespoons seeded and minced fresh jalapeno peppers
Procedure:
- Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl; then allow the mixture to sit at room temperature for 20 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9 by 13 by 2-inch baking pan.
- Pour the batter into the greased pan and smooth the top. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool and cut into large slices. Serve warm or at room temperature. Enjoy!
